The Company ensures traceability back to goods in record and where possible to the passport of each animal. All beef is slaughtered under contract at an external abattoir. Each whole beef animal, (e.g. 4 quarters), is given a batch code number on arrival at the loading bay and a label is applied to the quarter. The batch number stays attached to the quarter into the boning hall and is visible at all times; the batch number is transferred to the poly bag or vacuum bag on packing using a label gun and is printed on the case end label. No product leaves the building without a batch number attached to the packaging.
